January Update

Happy New Year! We are pleased to announce that we are on track with the LEAP launch and have some exciting updates about next steps to onboard colleges. As we move from project to service, we are excited to announce the new name for LEAP: the Library eResources Accessibility Portal (LEAP).

PORTAL LAUNCH: The LEAP Portal is built and we are currently finalizing the assessment content and populating the tool with all the instructional content, including scoring. We are also working on enhancements to the portal to improve navigation and develop a more robust assessment report.

WORKING GROUP UPDATES:
  • The Local Implementation and Shared Workflows Group submitted their report to CLO Executive, and the LEAP Project Managers met with CLO Executive and CLO Membership to field any questions or concerns. We anticipate that the report will be accepted in the next few weeks.
  • The Training and Competency Building Group has been hard at work, and is completing their training programs to support LEAP. There will be two types of sessions - one broad training module to introduce LEAP to all stakeholders, and one in depth training module to onboard staff who will be completing assessments. Further information can be found on the OCLS website.
  • The Assessment and Metrics Group is thinking through strategies for capturing use of the tool, and will have a plan in place by April 2020.
  • The Implementation Team is working together to streamline our communications and timelines to ensure successful implementation over the next few months.

PROJECT CHAMPIONS: We hope everyone was able to provide a LEAP update to their colleagues locally this semester. Please also feel free to share this update, or speak to our current work at your next staff meeting, using any of our promotional materials, as needed.

Thank you to our working group members for all their excellent work! If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to the LEAP project managers, Siobán Linnen (slinnen@ocls.ca) and Corinne Abba (cabba@georgebrown.ca).

Thank you for your continued support,
Corinne and Siobán
